Here at the Crookston Pet Clinic we take pain management very seriously. Animals have a hard time communicating what is wrong, so it is important for us to be diligent at monitoring them and deciphering their needs. Much like a newborn child, we cannot just ask our pets where it hurts, and often times our pets try to hide their pain as a self preservation technique.
The University of Colorado State developed an acute pain chart for both cats and dogs that we utilize in clinic to help decipher their pain status. Please see the downloads below for more information on what we look for. |
